Diversity, Equity and Inclusion - anti racism & non discrimination Policy Section 1. Jennings County United Way is dedicated to promoting environments that value the diverse backgrounds of all people. Our United Way is commited to a policy of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion including non-discrimination, equal opportunity, diversity, antiracism and affirmative action. Section 1a. Our Vision statement: To provide leadership and vision in the community’s pursuit of a rich and full quality of life for all people in Jennings County. We acknowledge that harm caused by racism, ethnic, religious and tribal discrimination and unequivocally denounce it because it negatively impacts quality of life. Prejudicial practices and policies embedded the laws, organizational guidelines, or traditions of institutions result in the systematic denial of resources and opportunities to members of subordinate groups. Section 2. The members, officers, directors, commitee members, employees, and persons served by this Corporation shall be selected entirely on a non-discriminatory basis with respect to residence, age, gender, race, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, veteran status or any other legally protected characteristic in accordance with applicable laws. Such selection shall be made and such persons maintained under an accepted program of affirmative action.
This Policy is embedded into our By Laws under ARTICLE XVIII.
