garbage disposal repair orange Literacy Volunteers Tutor Training

Literacy Volunteers of the Eastern Panhandle will be offering tutor training in February.  This will be a combined English as a Second Language and Basic Literacy Training.  Participants must attend all three session to be certified as pro-literacy tutors.  The dates and times are as follows:

  • Saturday, February 11 from 9:30 - 4:30 PM (lunch included)
  • Thursday, February 16, from 6:00 - 8:30 PM
  • Saturday, February 18, from 9:30 - 4:00 PM (lunch included)

All session will be held at Martinsburg Public Library on King Street in the GED classroom on the second floor.  For more information, contact Literacy Volunteers of the Eastern Panhandle at (304) 264-0298.

 

United Way of the Eastern Panhandle Funding Application Workshop

In the interest of providing more flexibility to agencies interested in applying for 2006 membership with the United Way of the Eastern Panhandle, the United Way will provide two opportunities to attend an application workshop. Agencies wishing to apply must attend one.

Standards for Excellence- Free Introductory Sessions

The Community Development Partnership of West Virginia is pleased to bring the National Standards for Excellence program to West Virginia.  The Standards for Excellence program is an initiative dedicated to strengthening management and governance in nonprofit organizations.  The centerpiece for the program is a code of conduct for well managed, responsibly governed nonprofits called the Standards for Excellence: An Ethic and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector.  The Standards program is designed to promote excellence and integrity in nonprofit management and to strengthen the public's trust in nonprofit organizations.
